HCOMS POB Control

Managing people on and off facilities has always been an important part of safety within the workforce for the offshore industry. HCOMS provides a flight booking approval workflow to assist with tracking teams arriving on and departing from an offshore facility. Identified service providers will need to seek approval before requested flights are confirmed.

HCOMS Compliance

Safety on the helideck is the primary objective for the HCOMS Compliance module. Providing the HLO with their daily checklists, ensuring all necessary checks are carried out in accordance with the latest regulations. Information is completed using touch-screen tablets that can operate remotely, giving the HLO the freedom to perform these checks on remote helidecks.

Findings are automatically tracked and remain visible until rectified, providing enhanced visibility of ongoing issues between helideck teams.

Helideck team responsibilities are also tracked for every flight incursion, automatically generating an activity log for each team member. The system then tracks recency amongst helideck crews as well as competency assessments, to build a proficiency profile for individuals and teams.




HCOMS Finance

A complimentary addition to the HCOMS solution is the ability to forecast expenditure and track costs across all operational aspects of a helideck. The Financial Planning module allows for scenario setting, providing management with easy comparison tools to measure financial impact and assist with budget making decisions.

Facility Operator

A primary objective for any organisation involved with offshore operations is to maximise safety for those individuals in their care. The helideck is the first point of contact offshore for these teams and it is an obligation for the facility operator to ensure all real-time, safety information relating to the helideck is made available to everyone involved in the logistics process.

SMART HCOMS ensures safety critical checks conform to current regulations and are completed by the responsible HLO. Any identified non-conformances are immediately reported and accurately tracked to closure. A risk-based approach is used to pre-define findings and highlight their potential consequences should they remain unresolved.

Helicopter Operator

Ultimately, the helicopter operator decides whether it is safe to land on an offshore helideck.

Transparency of information relating to the operational safety of a helideck is essential to ensure the helicopter pilot can make informed decisions relating to landing and take-off.

SMART HCOMS feeds the pilot with real-time safety information to the point of take-off. The HLO has the ability to restrict a helideck for landing which is then communicated directly onshore to the helicopter operator. The reason for closure is also made available with resulting actions communicated to the relevant parties.

Checklists within SMART HCOMS are revision controlled and each check can reference specific regulations and guidance information. The management of change is controlled and deployment of checklist updates becomes extremely efficient.

Inspection reports and certificates can be held in SMART HCOMS. Resulting recommendations can be tracked to closure or made available for any follow-up inspection. Inspectors may also be granted permission to access helideck information and review checklists completed by the operator to further assist with external inspections. This may eventually lead to an increase in duration between visits at the discretion of the inspector.
