FDM Integration
Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) or Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) is playing an increasing role in analysing aircraft performance for events that occur during flights. SMART has recognised the need to incorporate this data into any risk assessment or occurrence investigation process and has integrated with FDM providers to ensure this data is included.
FDM Investigation
By linking FDM data to a comprehensive investigative tool, in the form of SMART Occurrence, it is possible to collate all the information required for mandatory occurrences (MORs), air safety and cabin crew reports in a efficient and meaningful manner.
Without such a link the data would need to be manually analysed and referenced in any investigation or risk assessment system taking up valuable time and resources which could be better spent carrying out the investigation or managing the remedial actions that may result.
Revolutionary Link to Risk Assessment
The direct link from FDM events to the SMART RMS allows events to be linked to specific hazardous events each with their own bow tie structure and risk assessment. By analysing the bow tie of the event it is then possible to work out exactly why the event took place and ensure additional controls are documented and implemented to prevent future incidents.
